There are more Ferraris in Westchester than most people realize — they are simply not on the road at 8am on a Tuesday. They come out on weekends for the Taconic and the roads above Bedford and Pound Ridge, and they spend the rest of the week in garages in Purchase, Rye, Scarsdale and Greenwich. When one is damaged, even lightly, the stakes are different from any other repair.
What a Ferrari is actually made of
Since the 360, Ferrari road cars have been built around an aluminum spaceframe — extruded sections and cast nodes, bonded and riveted, with the body panels hung on it. The later cars refine that considerably, and the limited series add structural carbon fibre.
This matters because an aluminum spaceframe does not behave like a steel unibody in any respect. Cast nodes are not straightened; they are replaced, and only where Ferrari permits replacement. Extrusions have defined sectioning points and defined joining methods. The adhesive bond line is a structural element with its own preparation and cure requirements, and a joint prepared badly is weaker than the metal either side of it.
Carbon components are inspected rather than repaired. There is no straightening a carbon structure, and damage that is invisible from outside can be significant underneath.
Paint is the part people notice
Ferrari’s reds are the hardest part of the job. Rosso Corsa, Rosso Scuderia, Rosso Fuoco and the tri-coat finishes are not a single-stage color — they build depth in layers, and the match depends on the application being consistent across panels. Blending into adjacent undamaged panels is not optional on these finishes; it is what makes the repair invisible.
Ferrari’s Tailor Made and historic colors frequently have no standard mixing formula at all. Matching one means spraying test cards, checking them against the car under daylight, shade and artificial light, and adjusting until it is genuinely right rather than nearly right.
Parts, and the honest conversation about time
Genuine Ferrari parts come from Maranello. Some items are in regional stock; many are not, and a single component can set the timeline for the whole car. We will tell you this at the start rather than three weeks in. Anyone promising a fast turnaround on a structural Ferrari repair is either not ordering genuine parts or not telling you the truth about the schedule.
The details that get missed
Carbon ceramic brakes are standard on most modern Ferraris. They are damaged by impact and by contamination, and they need protecting during bodywork rather than treating as scenery.
The front axle lift system is the most commonly damaged component that nobody checks, because the cars live their lives clearing driveway aprons and parking ramps.
Underbody aero on the mid-engined cars is functional, not cosmetic. Diffusers, flat floors and channelling affect how the car behaves at speed, and a replacement that is close enough is not.
Sensors and cameras on the current cars follow the same rules as every other modern vehicle — factory-defined positions, published calibration procedures. See ADAS calibration after a collision.
Transport and storage
We can arrange enclosed transport. A car like this should not be winched onto an open flatbed by whoever arrives first, and the front lip is usually the first casualty when it is. If yours has been towed somewhere already, call us before the storage bill builds — under New York law the choice of repair facility is yours.
About our certifications
We hold manufacturer auto body certification with Land Rover, Jaguar, Rivian, Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and Stellantis. We are not a factory-certified center for this marque, and we will not claim to be. What we bring to it is our technicians’ individual certifications, a measuring and welding setup built for multi-material structures, a separate aluminum work area, and a commitment to repairing the car to the procedure the manufacturer actually published. If a shop tells you it is certified by every badge on the road, ask to see the paperwork.
Insurance, and diminished value
On a Ferrari the diminished value conversation is not a footnote — it is frequently the largest number in the whole claim. These cars are bought by people who read history reports forensically, and a documented accident moves the market value materially. Keep every invoice, every parts receipt and both scan reports.
On parts, there is effectively no argument to have: for structural and safety components on a car like this, genuine is the only defensible answer, and we document why. Background in OEM vs aftermarket parts in a New York claim.
While the car is here
Ferrari is one of the marques we build exhaust systems for — IPE, Fi Exhaust and Akrapovic — and we are an XPEL certified installer, so fresh paint can go into paint protection film before the car goes back out.
Where our Ferrari customers come from
55B Plain Ave, New Rochelle, minutes from I-95 exit 16. Cars come to us from Purchase, Rye, Harrison, Scarsdale, Larchmont, Bronxville, White Plains and Bedford, from Greenwich and New Canaan across the line, and from Manhattan and Riverdale.
Common questions
Can a Ferrari be repaired outside the official network?
Yes, by a shop with aluminum structural capability that works to the published procedure and documents it. What you should not accept is a shop that treats the spaceframe like a steel unibody.
Will you match my Tailor Made color?
Yes, and we will show you sprayed test cards against the car before anything is applied.
How long will it take?
Longer than you want, and parts availability is usually the reason. We will give you the real schedule up front. See how long collision repair takes.
Do you handle classic Ferraris?
We repair collision damage on them. We do not take on full restoration projects.

Enthusiast Auto Works, 55B Plain Ave, New Rochelle, NY 10801. Part of our luxury collision repair program for Westchester County. Call (914) 630-1668 or send us the details below.
We repair with OEM parts. Only.
Enthusiast Auto Works fits new original parts from the manufacturer’s dealer network. Not “like kind and quality”, not aftermarket copies, not a used panel off a donor car. Barring genuinely exceptional circumstances, that is what goes on your vehicle.
We also tell your insurer this before the estimate is written, rather than arguing about it afterwards. That one step is the reason it is rare for the question to become a fight at all.
Why it matters more than it sounds:
- Structural parts are engineered, not shaped. Reinforcement bars, crush cans, rails and radiator supports are designed to deform in a particular sequence at a particular load. A part that looks identical and deforms differently changes how the car protects you in the next collision — and nothing about the finished repair would reveal it.
- Sensors are measured in millimeters. Radar sits behind bumper covers and grilles, cameras sit in windshields and mirrors. If the mounting geometry is slightly off, calibration either fails or succeeds against the wrong reference. The second outcome is the dangerous one.
- Fit, coating and corrosion. Panel gaps, steel thickness and factory corrosion protection differ on copies. You see the gap immediately; you see the corrosion in three winters.
- Resale. A documented aftermarket panel is something a serious buyer’s inspector finds and prices in. On a premium car that is real money.
If your insurer pushes back. Most estimates arrive with aftermarket substitutions already written in. We write the supplement from the manufacturer’s published repair procedure with the relevant pages attached and make the case for the original part — documented procedure moves adjusters in a way that opinion does not. If a carrier still will not pay, our first move is to find a way to make the repair work without you going out of pocket. If we cannot, we call you, explain exactly where the claim stands, and you make the decision. What does not happen is an aftermarket part going quietly onto your car while you find out later.
