Jaguar Land Rover runs an authorized collision repair network for a simple reason: its cars are built mostly out of aluminum, and aluminum does not forgive a shop that treats it like steel. To be admitted, a shop has to put its technicians through JLR-specific training and assessments administered by I-CAR, including hands-on aluminum MIG welding certification. I-CAR's own page is blunt about it: completing the general courses alone does not qualify a technician as a JLR authorized technician. The shop also has to have the dedicated equipment, work from JLR's repair procedures and use genuine JLR parts.
Enthusiast Auto Works is a JLR certified collision repair center for Land Rover, Range Rover, Defender and Jaguar. Our technicians were trained by Land Rover on aluminum repair, and SV (Special Vehicle) owners trust us with their cars. We are in New Rochelle, about 15 minutes from Scarsdale, and we pick up across Westchester, Manhattan and lower Fairfield County. Our full list of manufacturer programs is on the certifications page.
The current Range Rover and Range Rover Sport sit on JLR's MLA-Flex architecture, an aluminum-intensive unibody with high-strength steel in selected reinforcement zones. The new Defender uses an all-aluminum D7x body that Land Rover calls the stiffest structure it has ever built. Jaguar has built aluminum-intensive bodies for years as well.
Aluminum work-hardens and can crack if it is pulled the way steel is pulled. Panels and structural pieces are joined with self-piercing rivets and structural adhesive rather than spot welds, and those joints have to be replaced with the same method, not welded over. Steel dust on an aluminum panel causes galvanic corrosion that shows up as bubbling paint a year or two later. That is why we keep aluminum work in a separate area with its own tools, and why JLR procedure, not a general estimating guide, decides whether a rail gets repaired or replaced.
A modern Range Rover carries forward cameras, radar, surround cameras and parking sensors, and a Defender adds the ClearSight systems on top. A windshield, a bumper, a mirror, a grille or an alignment can all put those systems out of spec. We do all ADAS calibration in-house (cameras, radar and sensors) to JLR procedure, with pre- and post-repair scans, and you get the calibration report with the vehicle. No sub-letting to a glass company or a dealer.
Aluminum needs its own prep and priming or the paint will not hold. We refinish the way JLR specifies and color-match to the car.
We use new parts from the JLR dealer network. No aftermarket, no used, no salvage. The insurer hears that from us at the start of the claim, in writing, so it is not a fight in week three.
If an insurer denies an OEM part, our first job is to find a way to get the right part on the car with no out-of-pocket cost to you. Usually that means documenting the JLR procedure that requires it. If we cannot get there, we call you, lay out the options, and decide together. There are no surprise charges at pickup.
In New York, an insurer cannot require you to use a specific repair shop. That is New York Insurance Law § 2610. When the adjuster suggests a shop from their list, you can simply say the car is going to Enthusiast Auto Works.
Most Range Rover and Defender owners we see in Greenwich, Scarsdale and Manhattan carry high-net-worth policies, and those claims run differently from a standard carrier's. We are a preferred repair shop for Berkley One, which helps streamline the whole process. We have a direct representative we deal with, and that lets us get to work on your car right away. We also regularly work with Chubb, PURE, AIG Private Client and Hagerty claims teams, and Chubb's Masterpiece materials say they will not dictate which shop you use. More on our high-net-worth insurance repair page.
At drop-off you sign three forms: a direction of pay, an authorization to repair, and a representation document that lets us talk to your insurance company on your behalf. After that we handle the estimate, the photos, the supplements and the adjuster. You hear from us, not from the carrier.
If the damage is heavy enough that the car may be a total loss, we help with that claim from start to finish too: we document the damage, work with your adjuster and keep you informed. Our luxury car accident repair guide walks through the whole process.
Many of the Range Rovers and Defenders we repair arrived with XPEL film already on them. A repainted panel needs new film to match, and we are an XPEL Certified Installer, so the panel is painted, cured and re-filmed in the same building. No second shop, no second appointment. If the car was not protected before, this is the easiest time to do it. See our XPEL paint protection film page and our Rivian and Land Rover collision and PPF page.
We pick up and deliver throughout Westchester, New York City, and Greenwich, Stamford and New Canaan in Connecticut. Scarsdale is about 15 minutes from the shop; if that is you, our Land Rover collision repair in Scarsdale page has more local detail. If the car is drivable we come to your home or office; if it is not, towing is available on all insurance claims at no cost to you.
We are also a Rivian Certified Collision Center. If there is an R1S or R1T in the driveway next to the Range Rover, see our Rivian certified collision repair page. General information on how we handle any collision repair is on our auto collision repair page.
Call 914-630-1668 or use the estimate form on this page. A few photos and the VIN are enough for us to get started. Open Monday through Friday at 55B Plain Ave, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
Because the body is mostly aluminum. The current Range Rover is an aluminum-intensive unibody and the new Defender has an all-aluminum body. Aluminum cannot be heated and pulled like steel, panels are joined with rivets and structural adhesive rather than welds, and steel contamination causes corrosion. JLR certification requires technicians trained and assessed through JLR's program, dedicated aluminum equipment, JLR repair procedures and genuine parts.
Both. Our JLR certification covers Jaguar as well as Land Rover, Range Rover and Defender.
Not in New York. Insurance Law § 2610 says an insurer cannot require you to use a specific repair shop. Tell the adjuster the car is coming to Enthusiast Auto Works and we take over the estimate, supplements and adjuster calls.
Yes, new parts from the JLR dealer network only. No aftermarket, used or salvage parts. We tell the insurer up front. If a part is denied, we first look for a way to get it approved at no cost to you; if we cannot, we call you and decide together.
We do, in-house. Cameras, radar and parking sensors are calibrated to JLR procedure here, with pre- and post-repair scans, and you get the calibration report. We do not sub-let calibration to a dealer or glass company.
Yes. We are an XPEL Certified Installer and the film is done in the same building as the collision repair, so repaired panels are painted, cured and re-filmed here without a second shop.

Enthusiast Auto Works fits new original parts from the manufacturer’s dealer network. Not “like kind and quality”, not aftermarket copies, not a used panel off a donor car. Barring genuinely exceptional circumstances, that is what goes on your vehicle.
We also tell your insurer this before the estimate is written, rather than arguing about it afterwards. That one step is the reason it is rare for the question to become a fight at all.
Why it matters more than it sounds:
If your insurer pushes back. Most estimates arrive with aftermarket substitutions already written in. We write the supplement from the manufacturer’s published repair procedure with the relevant pages attached and make the case for the original part — documented procedure moves adjusters in a way that opinion does not. If a carrier still will not pay, our first move is to find a way to make the repair work without you going out of pocket. If we cannot, we call you, explain exactly where the claim stands, and you make the decision. What does not happen is an aftermarket part going quietly onto your car while you find out later.

Protecting paint rather than repairing it? We are an XPEL Certified Installer as well as a collision shop — see paint protection film across Westchester, Fairfield and Bergen County.
Most collision shops cannot finish the job. They can repair and repaint the panel, but they cannot put the film back, because that is a separate trade with a separate certification. The car goes to a second facility afterward — a second drop-off, a second wait, and nobody answerable if the result does not match.
We do both in the same building. Enthusiast Auto Works is the only facility in NY, NJ and CT that can perform a certified repair and an XPEL install on your vehicle under one roof. A filmed vehicle is stripped, repaired, refinished, cured and re-filmed here without moving.
Other certified shops in the area send us their customers’ cars for the film work once their paint is done. If the film has to come back to us anyway, you can simply start here.
