What the warranty actually covers
We cover all labor on anything to do with the install, including lifting or marks. XPEL’s own warranty follows the car, so it still applies if you move out of state. Impact damage — rocks, road debris, anything striking the film — is not covered. On cars that get clear film we suggest a two week checkup, because lifting almost always shows up in the first two weeks. Once the film has cured it very rarely lifts.

Tailored Protection Packages
Coverage is chosen from the car and how it is driven, not from a menu. Every package below is quoted per vehicle in writing, with the panels spelled out, so you can compare it line for line against any other quote you hold.
- Partial Front: The leading edge of the hood, the leading portion of the fenders, the front bumper and the side mirrors. The least expensive route to covering the surfaces that take the majority of highway debris.
- Full Front (Full Nose): The full hood, full fenders, front bumper, headlights and side mirrors — no cut line across the middle of the hood. The most commonly chosen package on a car that is kept more than a couple of years, because a partial-hood line is visible in certain light and becomes a dirt edge over time.
- Track Package: Everything in the full front, plus rocker panels, rear wheel arches, door cups and door edges. Built for cars that see track days, long highway miles or the brine that goes down on I-95, the Hutch and the Merritt from December through March.
- Full Vehicle: Every exposed painted surface, front to back. The only package that leaves no unprotected panel, and the right answer on exotics, limited-production cars and anything with paint that would be difficult or expensive to match in a refinish.
- XPEL STEALTH (Matte Conversion): Any of the above coverages in XPEL STEALTH, which converts gloss paint to a satin finish while protecting it. STEALTH is also the correct film over factory matte and satin paint — those finishes cannot be polished, so film is the only sacrificial layer available to them. More on STEALTH conversions.
- Windshield Protection Film: Quoted separately, because windshield film on an ADAS-equipped vehicle may require camera recalibration as part of the job.

The XPEL Warranty, In Plain Terms
XPEL backs ULTIMATE PLUS and STEALTH with a 10-year manufacturer warranty from the date of installation, covering yellowing, cracking, blistering and delaminating. ULTIMATE FUSION carries the same 10-year coverage plus an additional period of coverage against oxidation, loss of gloss, UV damage and fading — with the condition that the film is inspected annually by a certified FUSION installer within thirty days of the installation anniversary.
The warranty is transferable to a new owner when they can produce proof of the original installation date, which is worth knowing if you sell the car inside the term.
What the warranty does not cover
It is a warranty against the film failing, not a warranty against the road. XPEL excludes:
- Impact damage — rocks, road debris and collision damage. The film is doing its job when it takes a hit; a deep strike that marks the film is not a manufacturing defect.
- Scratches and vandalism, including keying and cart damage.
- Water spots, and damage from improper maintenance or failure to follow the care instructions.
- Non-XPEL coatings applied over the film.
Claims go through the installing shop in writing. We keep the installation record, the film batch and the photographs on file for every car we wrap, so if you ever need to make a claim you are not the one hunting for a receipt from four years ago.
Our side of it
Separate from XPEL’s product warranty, we warrant our workmanship — lifting edges, trapped contamination, alignment and finish. If something we did is not right, we take the car back and make it right. Bring it in and we will look at it.
How We Install
The film is a commodity; the installation is not. Same product, two shops, two different cars a year later. What we do differently:
- Computer-plotted patterns, cut off the vehicle. No blade ever touches your paint. Hand-trimming happens on the table, not on the panel.
- Wrapped edges, not cut edges. We disassemble badges, mirror caps, headlights, grilles and trim so the film tucks behind the adjacent part instead of dying at a visible line mid-panel. A cut edge collects dirt and eventually lifts; a wrapped edge is invisible.
- Paint correction first, where it’s needed. Film magnifies whatever is underneath it. We inspect and photograph the paint before quoting and tell you exactly what would be sealed in.
- A controlled, filtered bay. Film is applied wet, and every airborne particle that lands in the tack window becomes a permanent bump. Our application space is enclosed and is not the room where anyone is sanding a fender.
- Real cure time. The car sits before it goes back out — longer in cold weather. Moisture haze clears in that window. We do not hand keys back two hours after the last panel.
Repair and Film Under One Roof
We are a Jaguar Land Rover and Rivian Certified Collision Repair Center as well as an XPEL Certified Installer, which matters more than it sounds. Fresh paint keeps releasing solvent after it leaves the booth, and sealing a newly refinished panel under film too early can trap that outgassing and cause adhesion failure or blistering weeks later — with no fix short of pulling the film and often redoing the panel.

XPEL warrants ULTIMATE PLUS and STEALTH for 10 years from the date of installation against yellowing, cracking, blistering and delaminating. Coverage and labor, not the film. How much of the car is covered, how complex the panels are, whether the installer wraps the edges (which means disassembling badges, mirrors, headlights and trim) or cuts the film on the panel, whether the paint needs correction first, and which film you choose. A car with compound curves and deep intakes can take more than twice the labor of a large, flat-panelled SUV for less coverage area, which is why a per-vehicle quote is the only honest answer.

Before you decide
Warranty, coverage and care
XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS is an eight-mil urethane film with a self-healing topcoat — light scratches and wash swirls close up with heat, either a warm afternoon or a heat gun.
The manufacturer warranty
- Ten years from the date of installation.
- Covers yellowing, cracking, blistering and delaminating.
- Registration is required for the warranty to exist at all. We register every installation and hand you the confirmation.
What it does not cover: rock and debris impact, scratches and scuffs, water spots, collision and vandalism, improper installation or handling, failure to follow the care instructions, unauthorized wash techniques, and non-XPEL ceramic coatings over the film.
That first exclusion surprises people, so it is worth being plain about it: this is a defect warranty, not damage insurance. If a stone tears the film, the film did its job and re-wrapping that panel is a chargeable repair. If the film goes yellow in year six, that is a claim. ULTIMATE PLUS is transferable to a new owner with proof of the original installation date, so the remaining term follows the car when you sell it.
Coverage levels
- Partial front — bumper, part of the hood, mirrors. Cheaper, and it leaves a visible line across the hood. We will tell you that before you choose it, not after.
- Full front — entire bumper, entire hood, full fenders, mirrors and headlights. No line anywhere. The sensible default for any car using the Hutch, the Merritt, the Saw Mill, I-95 or the George Washington Bridge approach.
- Full front plus high impact — adds rockers, lower doors, rear wheel arches, door cups and door edge guards. For gravel driveways, structured garages and village angled parking.
- Full body — every painted panel. For collector cars, difficult colors and anything you intend to still own in a decade.

Our warranty on the installation
XPEL warrants the film. We warrant the work, and that is the half most claims turn on, because improper installation is itself on XPEL’s exclusion list. We cover all labor on anything that comes from our installation — an edge that lifts, a mark, a corner that has let go. Bring the car back and we put it right.
Impact is not covered, for the same reason XPEL excludes it: a stone through the film is the film doing its job, and re-wrapping that panel is a chargeable repair.
The coverage travels with the car. Because we register every installation, if you move out of state you can take it to any XPEL certified installer in the country and have the work done there.
The two-week check-up
On every clear film job we ask you to bring the car back after about two weeks. It takes ten minutes. If film is going to lift, it lifts in the first two weeks, while the adhesive is still curing into the panel edges; after that it very rarely happens at all. That visit catches the one edge that wants attention before it becomes anything. Most shops do not ask you to come back.
Caring for it, and what voids the warranty
Hand wash with two buckets, a clean mitt and a pH-neutral shampoo. Touchless automatic washes are fine. Brush car washes are not — the brushes catch film edges and lift them, and a mechanically lifted edge is handling damage rather than a delamination defect, which puts it outside the warranty. Do not hold a pressure washer close to an edge. Leave the car unwashed for the first few days after fitting while the adhesive finishes curing.
XPEL also lists non-XPEL ceramic coatings applied over the film as an exclusion. Its own FUSION PLUS is explicitly fine. We fit both in-house using XPEL products on each side of that line, so the question never arises on your paperwork.
Before the film goes on
Film seals in whatever is underneath it for as long as it is on the car, so every vehicle is decontaminated and inspected under proper lighting, and the paint corrected where it needs it. Because we are a collision repair facility rather than a detail shop, a panel that genuinely needs refinishing first is handled in this building on a cure schedule we control — and if a filmed panel is damaged later, we repair it, refinish it and refit the film in one place.
Why the installation is the part to ask about
Two shops fitting XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS are using identical material. Everything separating a good result from a poor one happens in the bay.
Consistency. Same installers, same standard, every car — the work you get this month is the work you got last year. Comebacks. We get very few, and that is the number that actually measures installation quality. Dealer work. Luxury dealers across Westchester and in Greenwich send us their higher-end cars for film before delivery, and dealers stop sending cars the moment the work slips. The Porsche 911 is the car we film more often than any other, and it is one of the least forgiving shapes there is.
