Enthusiast Auto Works is a collision repair and paint protection film shop at 55B Plain Ave, New Rochelle, NY 10801, open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, at (914) 630-1668. We are a certified Jaguar Land Rover collision repair facility, including aluminum structural repair. For Scarsdale drivers we are a short drive away, roughly six miles.
Certification is not a badge a shop can buy. It is granted by the manufacturer and carries continuing obligations covering technician training, equipment, and access to the repair methods Jaguar Land Rover publishes. We are also a certified collision repair facility for Rivian, Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and Stellantis (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram), and an XPEL Certified Installer. Our technicians hold individual certifications as well, and we repair high-end cars of all marques. Our full list is on the certifications page.
Why a Jaguar Land Rover certification matters on an aluminum body
Land Rover and Range Rover bodies are not welded steel. They are built largely from bonded and riveted aluminum — extrusions, castings and stamped panels joined with structural adhesive and self-piercing rivets instead of spot welds. That changes nearly everything about how the vehicle must be repaired.
A segregated clean work area
Steel dust is the enemy of aluminum. When steel particles from grinding or welding settle on bare aluminum, the dissimilar metals plus moisture form a small electrical cell and the aluminum corrodes. That is galvanic corrosion, working outward from under the paint, invisible until the panel is compromised. A certified aluminum area is kept separate from steel work, with its own filtration.
Dedicated tooling that never touches steel
Aluminum work needs its own sanders, files, hammers, dollies, clamps and dust extraction, used on aluminum and nothing else. A disc run on a steel fender carries embedded particles and seeds corrosion into every aluminum panel it touches afterward.
Rivets, adhesive and structural procedure
Self-piercing and flow-form rivets come in specific diameters, lengths and hardnesses per joint and are set with calibrated guns and the correct dies. Structural adhesive has defined surface preparation, open time, bead placement and cure requirements. Heat must be controlled tightly: aluminum loses strength at temperatures that would not trouble steel, and gives no color warning. Get it wrong and the vehicle looks straight while its structure is compromised.
Access to published repair procedures
The real benefit of certification is information — current access to Jaguar Land Rover’s published procedures: which panels may be sectioned and exactly where, which must be replaced whole, which fasteners are single-use, torque and cure specifications, and which modules need initialization. Without it, a shop is improvising on a structure engineered to deform in a specific way.
ADAS calibration after a collision
A current Range Rover carries cameras behind the windshield, radar behind the front bumper cover and grille, cameras in the mirror housings and tailgate, parking sensors in the bumpers, and blind spot radar in the rear corners. When a bumper, grille, windshield, mirror or suspension component is disturbed, reassembly is not enough — those sensors have to be recalibrated to manufacturer specification.
Static versus dynamic calibration
A static calibration happens in the shop: the vehicle sits on a level floor, centered to its thrust line, while a specified target is placed at an exact distance, height and offset and a scan tool runs the aiming routine. A dynamic calibration happens on the road, scan tool connected, at a set speed on well-marked roads while the module learns from real lane lines. Some systems need one, some both, and the order matters.

Air suspension, ride height and alignment
Most of these vehicles ride on electronically controlled air suspension, and a collision can damage a strut, an air line, the compressor or a ride height sensor linkage. Those sensors tell the vehicle where normal is, so a bent link makes it hold the wrong ride height, which changes camber and toe and changes the aim of every camera and radar on the car. Suspension and steering components are measured first, ride height is set to specification, then all four wheels are aligned at the correct trim height. Only then do ADAS calibrations mean anything.
What to do in the first 24 hours after an accident
- Get safe first. Move out of traffic if the vehicle is drivable, hazards on, and check everyone in the car.
- Call the police and get a report — the official record of the facts insurers use to sort out liability.
- Photograph everything before anything moves: wide shots of vehicle positions, then close-ups of each damaged area and the plates.
- Exchange information — name, phone, insurer, policy number, plate and license for every driver, plus any witnesses.
- Direct where the vehicle goes. If it is towed, you can name the destination instead of a default storage yard.
- Open the claim, then call us at (914) 630-1668.
In New York, the vehicle owner chooses the repair facility. An insurer may recommend shops in its network, which is normal, but the choice is yours — you are not required to use a shop because it appears on a list. Coverage details vary by policy, so confirm the specifics with your insurer, and do not mistake a recommendation for a requirement.
How the insurance process works here
We write a repair estimate from the manufacturer procedures for your vehicle, and the insurer reviews it, often with its own appraiser. Once the vehicle is disassembled and hidden damage is visible, we file a supplement for what could not be seen from outside — on a bonded aluminum vehicle there is frequently more underneath than the first look suggests. We deal directly with your adjuster and support line items like required calibrations, single-use fasteners and manufacturer-specified operations that generic estimating systems leave out.
Our OEM parts policy
We repair with OEM parts only — new parts from the dealer. We tell insurers that up front, at the start of the claim, so there are no surprises later. If an insurer denies OEM, our first move is to make it work for you without you paying out of pocket. If that is not possible, we call you, explain it plainly, and decide together how to proceed. Aftermarket parts are very rare here and used only in special circumstances.
Paint, color matching and blending
Land Rover finishes are difficult to match. Metallic and pearl colors take their appearance from the orientation and layering of aluminum flake, mica and tinted clear, so two panels can share a paint code and still look different in daylight. Test panels are sprayed and compared to your vehicle under proper lighting before anything reaches the car. We then blend into adjacent panels rather than stopping at a body line and hoping: blending carries the new color a controlled distance into the neighboring panel so the transition falls away gradually and the eye never catches an edge. Clear goes to a natural break and is polished to the factory texture around it.
XPEL paint protection film
Enthusiast Auto Works is an XPEL Certified Installer. Paint protection film is a clear urethane film applied over paint to absorb rock chips and road rash — worth considering after fresh refinish work, since a new hood or bumper is the surface most exposed to highway debris. Fresh paint has to cure fully first, and we will tell you when it is ready.
Frequently asked questions
I got into an accident in my Land Rover near Scarsdale — where should I take it?
Take it to a shop certified by Jaguar Land Rover for aluminum structural repair, because that is what these bodies are built from. Enthusiast Auto Works is such a facility, at 55B Plain Ave in New Rochelle, about six miles from Scarsdale. Call (914) 630-1668, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm; if the vehicle is not drivable, it can be towed here directly.
Is Enthusiast Auto Works a certified Land Rover collision center?
Yes. Enthusiast Auto Works is a certified Jaguar Land Rover collision repair facility, including aluminum structural repair, covering technician training, equipment and access to published repair procedures. We are also certified for Rivian, Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and Stellantis vehicles, and we are an XPEL Certified Installer.
Do you repair aluminum Range Rover bodies?
Yes, and that is the heart of the certification. Aluminum work is done with aluminum-only tooling and kept separate from steel work, so steel contamination never reaches your vehicle’s structure. Riveted and bonded repairs use the rivets, adhesives and sectioning locations Jaguar Land Rover specifies for your model.
Do you use OEM parts?
We repair with OEM parts only — new parts from the dealer — and we tell insurers so up front. If an insurer denies OEM, we first work to make it happen without you paying out of pocket. If that cannot be arranged, we call you to talk it through and decide together. Aftermarket parts are very rare here and used only in special circumstances.
Will you work with my insurance company?
Yes. We write the estimate, deal directly with your adjuster, and file supplements once disassembly reveals damage that was not visible at first. We document manufacturer-required operations — structural procedures, single-use fasteners, ADAS calibrations — so they are not left off a generic estimate.
Do I have to use the shop my insurer recommends?
No. In New York the vehicle owner chooses the repair facility. Insurers may recommend shops in their network, which is normal, but a recommendation is not a requirement. Since coverage details vary by policy, confirm the specifics with your insurer or agent.
How far is Enthusiast Auto Works from Scarsdale?
We are at 55B Plain Ave, New Rochelle, NY 10801, roughly six miles from Scarsdale, a short drive. Call (914) 630-1668 and we will arrange drop-off, or coordinate a tow if the vehicle is not safe to drive.
Do you repair Jaguars too?
Yes. The certification is a Jaguar Land Rover certification and covers both brands. We repair the F-PACE, E-PACE, I-PACE, XE and XF, including their aluminum-intensive structures and the high-voltage handling the electric I-PACE requires.
Do the cameras and sensors behind my bumper need anything after a repair?
Yes. Radar, cameras and parking sensors have to be recalibrated to manufacturer specification after the surrounding panel or structure is disturbed, not simply reinstalled. Depending on the system that means a static calibration, a dynamic calibration driven on the road, or both. We run pre- and post-repair scans and document every calibration in your repair file.

If your vehicle has paint protection film on it
Most collision shops cannot finish the job. They can repair and repaint the panel, but they cannot put the film back, because that is a separate trade with a separate certification. The car goes to a second facility afterward — a second drop-off, a second wait, and nobody answerable if the result does not match.
We do both in the same building. To our knowledge, Enthusiast Auto Works is the only collision facility in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut holding Rivian collision certification, Land Rover collision certification and XPEL Certified Installer status at the same time. A filmed vehicle is stripped, repaired, refinished, cured and re-filmed here without moving.
Other certified shops in the area send us their customers’ cars for the film work once their paint is done. If the film has to come back to us anyway, you can simply start here.
