The brands we fit, and how they differ

We work mainly with IPE, Fi Exhaust and Akrapovič, and we also fit Gintani and Valvetronic Designs. They do not sound or behave the same, and that difference matters more than any spec sheet.

• Akrapovič — the benchmark, and the one several manufacturers fit from the factory. Titanium construction, carbon tailpipes, and a tone that is aggressive without becoming tiring on a long drive. If you want the system that is hardest to argue with on a Porsche or a Lamborghini, this is usually it.
• IPE (Innotech Performance Exhaust) — titanium and stainless systems with a strong reputation for fit and finish and for valved systems that genuinely stay civil in the quiet setting. Very wide coverage across the European exotics.
• Fi Exhaust — valvetronic systems with a brighter, harder-edged voice that suits high-revving engines. A favorite on Ferrari and on the naturally aspirated Lamborghini V10 and V12.
• Gintani — known for tuning as much as exhaust, and for a deep, aggressive character. Often the pick when the exhaust is one part of a wider power program.
• Valvetronic Designs — strong coverage and remote-controlled valve behavior, with a broad range between quiet and fully open.

The honest guidance: choose on tone and valve behavior, not on weight saving or headline power. You will hear the car every single day. A few kilograms and a few horsepower you will not.

What an exhaust actually changes

• Sound and character. The real reason anyone does this, and the one that delivers reliably.
• Weight. Titanium and thin-wall stainless systems can save meaningful weight over a heavy factory system, and it comes off the rear of the car.
• Backpressure and response. On a turbocharged engine this is where genuine power lives. On a naturally aspirated engine expect sharper response rather than a transformed dyno chart.
• Reversibility. Keep the factory system. It protects resale, it gives you an answer at a dealer, and on an exotic the original exhaust is worth keeping in the box.

Frequently asked questions

Will an aftermarket exhaust void my warranty?

Not automatically. In the United States the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act means a manufacturer cannot void your entire warranty simply because you fitted an aftermarket part — it has to show that the part caused the failure it is declining to cover. In practice that means an exhaust is very unlikely to affect a suspension or infotainment claim, but could be raised on a turbo or catalyst claim. Most of our clients keep the factory system boxed so the car can be returned to stock before a dealer visit or a sale, and we make that swap straightforward.

Is a cat-back or a full exhaust system better?

It depends what you are after. A cat-back replaces everything behind the catalytic converters — it changes tone and volume, saves weight, and leaves emissions equipment untouched, which is why it is the usual choice for a street car. A full system including downpipes or headers unlocks meaningful power on a turbocharged engine but replaces or relocates emissions equipment, which carries legal implications for a road-registered vehicle in New York. We will tell you plainly which side of that line a given system sits on before you commit.

Will it be too loud for daily driving?

That is the most common regret, and it is avoidable. Valved systems solve it — quiet and civil in the default drive mode, fully open in sport or on demand. Gintani, IPE, Fi Exhaust and Valvetronic all build valved systems for most applications. If you commute, or you leave early from a residential street, a valved system is almost always the right answer over a fixed straight-through design.

Does an exhaust actually add power?

On a naturally aspirated engine, modestly — usually single-digit percentages, with most of the benefit felt as throttle response and top-end character rather than as a number. On a turbocharged engine the gains are larger, because reducing backpressure lets the turbo work more efficiently, and larger still when paired with a supporting tune. Anyone promising dramatic power from a cat-back alone on an NA car is selling you sound, which is a perfectly good reason to buy one — just be clear that is what you are buying.

Which exhaust brands do you install?

Each brand has its own character, and we will talk through tone, valve behavior, material and fitment for your specific car rather than pushing whichever system is in stock.

How long does an exhaust installation take?

Most systems are a single-day job. Complex applications, systems needing header work, or installations combined with a tune can run longer. We work in an enclosed, climate-controlled facility rather than outdoors, and the car goes on a lift rather than on ramps.

Can you tune the car at the same time?

On applications where a tune is appropriate, yes — and on a turbocharged car it is usually where the real gains are. We will be straightforward about which cars benefit and which do not, and about the warranty and emissions implications either way.

Do you protect the paint afterwards?

We can. We are an XPEL Certified Installer as well as a collision and customisation shop, so a car in for exhaust work can have paint protection film, ceramic coating or a STEALTH matte conversion done in the same visit rather than across two appointments at two businesses.
