If you just had an accident and your car is insured through Berkley One, Chubb, PURE, AIG Private Client, Hagerty, Erie or Cincinnati Insurance, you have two decisions to make: who repairs the car, and how much of the claim you want to manage yourself. At Enthusiast Auto Works in New Rochelle, we handle both for you. We regularly work with these carriers’ claims teams, we use OEM parts only, and we can pick the car up and bring it back to you anywhere in Westchester, New York City or Greenwich, Stamford and New Canaan, Connecticut.
This page explains how claims work with each of these carriers at our shop, what we do when an insurer pushes back on a part, and what happens after you call us.
Why Private-Client Policyholders Use EAW
Owners with high-net-worth coverage usually drive cars that are expensive to fix correctly: a Range Rover with aluminum body panels, a Rivian with its own repair procedures, a Porsche, a late-model BMW, Mercedes or Audi, or something rarer. Your policy is built to pay for a proper repair. The shop you choose decides whether you actually get one.
Here is what we bring to the claim:
- Berkley One preferred repair shop. This streamlines the whole process, and our direct representative at Berkley One lets us start work on your car right away.
- Working relationships with private-client carriers. We regularly work with the claims teams at Chubb, PURE, AIG Private Client, Hagerty, Erie and Cincinnati Insurance.
- OEM certifications. We are certified for collision repair by Rivian and Jaguar Land Rover, along with Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and Stellantis.
- OEM parts only. New parts from the dealer. No aftermarket, no salvage.
- In-house ADAS calibration. Cameras, radar and sensors are calibrated here as part of the repair.
- Collision and paint protection film under one roof. We are an XPEL Certified Installer, so if your car had PPF before the accident, we can re-film the repaired panels here.
- Pickup and delivery in Westchester, NYC and Greenwich, Stamford and New Canaan, CT.
- 4.9-star Google rating from our customers.
You Choose the Body Shop, Not Your Insurer
Under New York Insurance Law § 2610, your insurance company cannot require you to take your car to a particular repair shop. It can suggest one, but the choice is yours. That applies whether your carrier is Berkley One, Chubb, PURE or anyone else. If an adjuster steers you somewhere else, you can still tell them you want your car repaired at Enthusiast Auto Works, and we will take it from there. For more detail, read our page on choosing your own body shop in New York.
How We Work With Each Carrier
Berkley One: Preferred Repair Shop
EAW is a preferred repair shop for Berkley One, which helps streamline the whole process. We have a direct representative at Berkley One, and that lets us get to work on your car right away. We write the estimate, document the damage and submit it, and the repair moves forward.
For you, that means less time on the phone and a car that gets into repair sooner. If you are a Berkley One policyholder, tell your claims rep you want to use Enthusiast Auto Works, or call us first and we will open the claim with them.
Chubb, PURE and AIG Private Client
We regularly work with the claims teams at Chubb, PURE and AIG Private Client. These carriers insure a lot of the cars we see: Range Rovers, Porsches, high-end German sedans and SUVs, and exotics. Their policies are written with the expectation that the car will be restored properly, and their adjusters are used to working with shops that document repairs carefully.
We send a detailed estimate with photos, follow the manufacturer’s repair procedures, and stay in contact with your adjuster through the repair. If supplements come up after teardown, which is common on modern cars, we document them and handle the approval so you are not stuck in the middle.
Hagerty: Collector and Exotic Cars
If your car is insured with Hagerty, the details matter. We are a shop run by car people, and we treat these cars accordingly: careful disassembly, correct parts, proper paint matching and attention to how the car looked before the damage.
We regularly work with Hagerty’s claims team and keep them informed through the process. If your collector car needs PPF restored after the repair, we handle that in-house as well.
Erie and Cincinnati Insurance
If you are insured with Erie or Cincinnati Insurance, the process is the same. We work with both carriers’ claims teams and follow the same approach: an accurate, well-documented estimate, OEM parts, and regular updates for you and your adjuster.
We Handle the Claim Calls for You
When you drop off your car, you sign three forms: a direction of pay, an authorization to repair, and a representation document that lets us talk to your insurance company on your behalf. We then act as your claim concierge and handle the details with the adjuster, so you avoid the back-and-forth phone calls.
OEM Parts Only, and What Happens If an Insurer Says No
We tell every insurer up front that we only use OEM parts: new, from the dealer. That is the standard we hold on every car, regardless of carrier.
Occasionally an insurer denies an OEM part and wants an alternative. When that happens, we first look for a way to make the OEM part work without you paying anything out of pocket. If there is no way around it, we call you, explain the options plainly, and decide together. You will not find out about a parts substitution after the fact.
Certified Repair for the Cars Our Customers Drive
We hold collision repair certifications from Rivian, Land Rover and Jaguar, Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and Stellantis. Those programs require specific training, equipment and repair procedures, and we follow them.
We also repair Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other high-end and exotic cars, working from the manufacturer’s published repair information and using new OEM parts. You can read more about our full auto collision repair service.
We also perform all ADAS calibration (cameras, radar and sensors) in-house as part of the collision repair, which matters on cars like the Rivian, Range Rover and Jaguar.
If the Car Is a Total Loss
Not every accident ends in a repair. When the damage is severe enough that the insurer may total the car, we handle that side of the claim as well. We handle total loss claims from start to finish: we document the damage, work with your adjuster and keep you informed so you know where things stand. You are not left to sort out the process on your own.
For repairable claims, if your claim qualifies for diminished value, we can also set you up with a diminished value representative.
Collision Repair and PPF in One Place
Many of the cars we repair had paint protection film before the accident. At most body shops, the film gets removed and never replaced, or you have to take the car somewhere else afterward. We are an XPEL Certified Installer, so we can re-film the repaired panels here before the car goes back to you. See our XPEL paint protection film page for more.
