From Mount Kisco to our shop at 55B Plain Ave in New Rochelle is about 30 minutes outside rush hour. The usual way is Route 172 east to I-684, south to the Hutchinson River Parkway, and down the Hutch to New Rochelle. From Chappaqua it’s a similar drive, often by the Saw Mill or the Taconic. From Armonk it’s even shorter, since you pick up I-684 at the Route 22 exit.

Most Mount Kisco customers don’t drive it, though. We pick the car up, repair it and bring it back. Mount Kisco, Chappaqua and Armonk are all in Westchester, which is inside our regular pickup and delivery area.

We do collision repair and XPEL paint protection film under one roof. A typical week has us working on Range Rovers, Rivians, Porsche Cayennes and Macans, Volvos, BMW X5s and Teslas from northern Westchester. Here’s how a repair works with us if you live up there.

The damage we see from this area

Parkway hits

The Saw Mill River Parkway is old, curvy and narrow in places. North of Pleasantville it drops to two lanes on the hillside through New Castle, and there’s very little room to get out of trouble. We get sideswipes, guardrail contact and rear-end hits from people braking hard for a sudden slowdown. The Taconic, used by a lot of Chappaqua drivers, brings the same kind of claims at higher speeds.

Deer

Deer are a constant up here, on the parkways and on roads like Route 133, Route 128 and Route 172. New York DMV figures show deer crashes rise in October and peak in November. On a modern SUV, one deer can mean a bumper, grille, headlight, hood, radiator support, and the radar sensor behind the emblem. That’s a bigger repair than it looks from the driver’s seat. Animal strikes are usually covered under comprehensive, not collision, so your deductible may be different.

Village traffic and parking lots

Downtown Mount Kisco is busy for a small village. Main Street, the Route 117 and Route 133 junction, and the shopping center lots off the main roads bring a steady run of low-speed rear-end bumps, backing accidents and door hits. Those repairs look cosmetic, but bumpers on most newer cars carry parking sensors and radar. The sensors have to be handled and recalibrated correctly or the car’s safety systems won’t work the way they should.

Train station lots

The Mount Kisco and Chappaqua Metro-North lots see the same thing every commuter lot does: mirror clips, scraped bumpers and the occasional hit-and-run while the car sits all day. Take photos, file a police report if no one left a note, and call us.

How we repair a car

New OEM parts, no exceptions

Every part we install is new from the dealer. We don’t use aftermarket, used or salvage parts, and we tell the insurer that before the estimate is final. If the insurer won’t approve an OEM part, we first look for a way to get it done without you paying out of pocket. If that’s not possible, we call you and make the decision together.

Calibration done here

We do all ADAS calibration in-house: front cameras, radar, blind-spot sensors, parking sensors and surround-view cameras. It’s part of the collision repair, so the car doesn’t leave for a dealer visit after we’re done. We scan before and after the repair and keep the reports with your file.

Factory certifications we hold

We’re a Rivian certified collision center and certified for Land Rover and Jaguar collision repair, along with Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and the Stellantis brands. For Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Tesla and others, we repair to the manufacturer’s published procedures and use their parts, but we aren’t certified by those brands and won’t tell you otherwise.

Film, after paint

If your car had paint protection film on the damaged panels, we’re an XPEL Certified Installer and put new film back on here once the paint has cured. If it didn’t have film, a fresh repair is a good time to add it to the front end.

Handling the claim for you

At drop-off you’ll sign three forms. One directs the insurance payment. One authorizes the repair. The third lets us speak to your insurance company for you. After that we’re your claim concierge: we talk to the adjuster, send photos, write supplements when we find hidden damage, and keep you updated. You don’t have to chase anyone.

We’re a preferred repair shop for Berkley One, which helps streamline the whole process. We have a direct representative we deal with, and that lets us get to work on your car right away. We also work with Chubb, PURE, AIG Private Client and Hagerty claims teams all the time. If you’re insured through one of them, see our page on high-net-worth insurance claims.

Your right to choose a shop in New York

New York Insurance Law § 2610 bars insurance companies from requiring you to use a specific repair shop. If the insurer recommends a shop, you’re free to pick a different one. More detail is in our article on choosing your own body shop.

Total loss claims

When the damage is too much, we’ll tell you so. EVs and aluminum-bodied SUVs can total out on damage that looks repairable. We handle total loss claims from start to finish, for all makes: we document the damage, work with your adjuster and keep you informed. Our total loss guide covers what to expect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you pick up cars in Mount Kisco, Chappaqua and Armonk?

Yes. All three are in Westchester, which is part of our pickup and delivery area.

How long is the drive to your shop?

About 30 minutes from Mount Kisco by I-684 and the Hutchinson River Parkway, more in rush hour.

The damage looks small. Why does the estimate include calibration?

Bumpers, grilles and mirrors on newer cars hold radar and cameras. If they’re moved or replaced, they have to be calibrated so driver-assist features work correctly. We do that in-house.

Can my insurance company make me use their shop?

No. Under New York Insurance Law § 2610 you choose the shop.

Are you certified for Porsche or Tesla?

No. We repair both to the manufacturer’s procedures with OEM parts. Our certifications are Rivian, Land Rover, Jaguar, Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and Stellantis.

Who deals with the insurance company?

We do. You sign a form at drop-off that lets us talk to your insurer for you, and we handle the calls from there.
