Harrison and Purchase between them hold a concentration of serious cars that is unusual even by Westchester standards. Purchase has the corporate campuses, the country clubs and the kind of driveways where a weekend car lives alongside two daily ones. Harrison has the village, the commuter traffic and the interchange where the Hutchinson River Parkway, I-287 and I-684 all converge within a few miles of each other.

That produces two quite different kinds of work, and we do both.

The weekend-car problem

A meaningful share of what we see from Purchase is not a collision at all. It is the damage that accumulates around a car that lives in a garage and comes out occasionally:

Front splitters and lower lips on steep driveway aprons. This is the most common single repair on a low car in this part of the county, and on a Ferrari, McLaren or Lamborghini it is worth doing properly because a mismatched lip is obvious from across a parking lot.

Curbed wheels and lower bodywork on narrow gated entrances.

Front lift systems that stop working after contact and are usually discovered on the next steep driveway rather than at the time.

Paint that needs matching rather than replacing — Paint to Sample, Tailor Made, MSO and Ad Personam colors with no standard mixing formula, which we spray on test cards and check against the car under several light sources before anything is applied.

We can arrange enclosed transport for cars that should not be winched onto an open flatbed by whoever arrives first. The specifics by marque are on the luxury collision repair pagesFerrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rolls-Royce and the rest.

And the everyday one

The Hutchinson River Parkway. Narrow lanes, stone overpasses, no shoulder in places and tight on-ramps. Real damage at real speed.

I-287 and the Westchester Avenue corridor. Commuter volume feeding the office parks, with the stop-start rear-end impacts that come with it.

The airport approach. Westchester County Airport traffic brings unfamiliar drivers, rental cars and people running late — a combination that reliably produces low-speed collisions.

Purchase Street and Halstead Avenue. Village parking, deliveries, doors and mirrors.

Anderson Hill Road and the campus roads. Wide, fast for what they are, with heavy turning traffic in and out of the corporate entrances.

Deer. On the roads toward North Castle and up past the country clubs, deer strikes are a genuine seasonal hazard from October into December. That is a comprehensive claim, not a collision claim.

What we are actually certified for

Enthusiast Auto Works holds manufacturer auto body certification with Land Rover, Jaguar, Rivian, Genesis, Infiniti, Nissan, Kia and Stellantis (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Fiat), and we are an XPEL certified installer. Every other premium marque — BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Tesla, Lexus, Volvo and the rest — we repair to the manufacturer’s published procedure using our technicians’ own certifications and our equipment. We do not claim brand certifications we do not hold, and you can ask to see any of them.

What modern repair involves on these cars

Aluminum and carbon structures that cannot be treated like steel. Bonded and riveted joints where the rivet and adhesive specification is published by the manufacturer rather than chosen by the technician. Carbon monocoques that are inspected rather than repaired. And on everything, a sensor suite that must be recalibrated to factory procedure after almost any front-end work — a step that produces no warning light when it is skipped, which is exactly why it gets skipped.

We pre-scan and post-scan every vehicle and hand you both reports.

Common questions

I scraped the splitter on my driveway. Is that a real repair?

Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do for this area. Whether it is worth claiming depends on your deductible — we will give you the honest number either way.

Can you match a bespoke or special-order color?

Yes, and we will show you the sprayed test cards against the car before committing. These colors are matched by eye under controlled light, not by formula lookup.

Do I have to use the manufacturer’s approved network?

No. In New York the choice of repair facility is yours. What matters is the equipment, the procedure and the documentation — and for Land Rover, Jaguar, Rivian, Genesis and Infiniti we are certified anyway.

My car was in an accident on the Hutch. What happens first?

Get it to us rather than into a storage yard, then teardown, then the supplement. Storage fees accrue daily and the car gets harder to move the longer it sits.

Do you do exhaust work while the car is in?

Yes, on the exotic marques — IPE, Fi Exhaust and Akrapovic. A car already in for bodywork is the convenient time.

Useful reading before you call your insurer

Enthusiast Auto Works, 55B Plain Ave, New Rochelle, NY 10801. Call (914) 630-1668 or send us the details below and we will come back to you.

We repair with OEM parts. Only.

Enthusiast Auto Works fits new original parts from the manufacturer’s dealer network. Not “like kind and quality”, not aftermarket copies, not a used panel off a donor car. Barring genuinely exceptional circumstances, that is what goes on your vehicle.

We also tell your insurer this before the estimate is written, rather than arguing about it afterwards. That one step is the reason it is rare for the question to become a fight at all.

Why it matters more than it sounds:

  • Structural parts are engineered, not shaped. Reinforcement bars, crush cans, rails and radiator supports are designed to deform in a particular sequence at a particular load. A part that looks identical and deforms differently changes how the car protects you in the next collision — and nothing about the finished repair would reveal it.
  • Sensors are measured in millimeters. Radar sits behind bumper covers and grilles, cameras sit in windshields and mirrors. If the mounting geometry is slightly off, calibration either fails or succeeds against the wrong reference. The second outcome is the dangerous one.
  • Fit, coating and corrosion. Panel gaps, steel thickness and factory corrosion protection differ on copies. You see the gap immediately; you see the corrosion in three winters.
  • Resale. A documented aftermarket panel is something a serious buyer’s inspector finds and prices in. On a premium car that is real money.

If your insurer pushes back. Most estimates arrive with aftermarket substitutions already written in. We write the supplement from the manufacturer’s published repair procedure with the relevant pages attached and make the case for the original part — documented procedure moves adjusters in a way that opinion does not. If a carrier still will not pay, our first move is to find a way to make the repair work without you going out of pocket. If we cannot, we call you, explain exactly where the claim stands, and you make the decision. What does not happen is an aftermarket part going quietly onto your car while you find out later.
